Costs

Our goal at Coastal Sound is to keep our programs affordable for everyone wanting to take part. We try to keep our fees competitive while maintaining our commitment to offer fine musical education by certified teaching professionals.

We ask all families (except the pre-school Sources levels) to take part in fundraising events such as the Christmas poinsettia sale and spring dinner/auction, as this helps to subsidize fees by about 20 – 30%.

Payment plan options are available, and a special fee schedule is available for families with more than one Coastal Sound singer. Please call the CSMA office at 604-469-5973 to find out more.

Payments are accepted in cash, cheque, Visa/MasterCard/American Express.

Coastal Sound Music Academy Society is incorporated as a not-for profit (July 1993) in the Province of British Columbia and a registered charity with Canada Revenue Agency BN 89017 6043 RR0001 (March 1994).

2007/08 Fee Schedule

Sources:

• $375.00 payable on/or before first session September 11, 2007
• If you returned your “Participation Commitment Form” following the previous term’s assessment with $50.00 non-refundable deposit; the deposit is deducted from September payment.
• Sessions at 3:15 PM, 4:15 PM and 5:15 PM on Tuesdays. Weekly classes are held September to June.

Novisingers, Girlchoir and Boychoir:

• $700.00/child on/or before the start-up workshop on Saturday September 8, 2007. Payment plan schedule is available.
• Students placed before September start-up should return a “Participation Commitment Form” with $50.00 non-refundable placement deposit to hold a space for your singer. The deposit is deducted from the September payment.
• All apprentice levels rehearsals held Tuesdays at Ecole des Pionniers (francophone school) at 3550 Wellington Street, Port Coquitlam. Weekly rehearsals held September – June.

Children’s Concert/Touring Choir: (advanced treble voices- boys & girls, age 10-16)

• $925.00/child on/or before first regular rehearsal held September 4, 2008.  Payment plan schedule available.
• All Children’s Choir rehearsals held Thursdays at Evergreen Cultural Centre (rehearsal room), 1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam. Regular rehearsals held weekly on Thursday and every second Saturday from September – June.
• If you returned your “Participation Commitment Form” with $50.00 non-refundable placement deposit; it will be deducted from fees paid in September.
• The Children’s Choir opens each fall season with a choral workshop week held the last week of August before school returns.  2007-2008 pre-season workshop week is held August 27 – 31 from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
• The Children’s Choir participates in an annual weekend choral retreat held at Timberline Ranch in Maple Ridge, September 21-23, 2007.    Cost for the weekend retreat is $110.00 payable in September.  Some optional activities, i.e. horseback riding, hayride, and wall climbing is extra.
• The Children’s Choir participates in various festivals and travels nationally and internationally as part of their music enrichment program.  Festivals or travel opportunities usually take place during school spring break or the first weeks of July.
• There are extra cost with festivals and international tours.  They are planned two years in advance.  July 2006 was Cuba and March 2008 is China with 2010 to be announced.

Youth Choir: (changed voice boys and girls)

• $350.00 on/or before the first regular rehearsal September 6th, 2007.
• All Youth Choir  regular rehearsals are held Thursdays at Evergreen Cultural Centre (rehearsal room), 1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam. Regular rehearsals held weekly, September – June.
• If you returned your “Participation Commitment Form” with $50.00 non-refundable placement deposit; it will be deducted from fees paid in September.
• Youth Choir participates in an annual weekend choral retreat during September.  Cost of the retreat is $50.00 payable in September.
• Youth Singers participate in festivals and may travel as part of their music enrichment program.  There are extra costs with festivals and travel.

Adult Community Concert Choir: (SATB mixed voices)

• $225.00/singer payable on/or before the first rehearsal September 4th, 2008. Weekly rehearsals Tuesday evenings 7:30 PM – 9:45 PM September to June.
• Members who have already paid their “Participation Commitment Deposit” of $50 from previous term will have it deducted from the September payment.
• Extra costs for new members will include performance uniform. Members purchase of which there are parts owned by CSMA and parts by the singer. Ladies - $100.00 & Men - $50.00.
