Girlchoir
This is the final level of preparation for girls before joining the CSMA concert/touring choirs. Most Girlchoir students have participated in earlier CSMA training levels, although some new students with previous formal music training or strong musicality may be placed directly in the Girlchoir.
Students at this level are beginning to read music with considerable confidence, sing in multi-part harmony, and demonstrate disciplined stage performance skills. This level performs at our two annual Academy concerts and at other community events as singers prepare for the commitment and demands of the Children's Touring Concert Choir.
First session Tuesday, September 8th, 2009 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at Ecole des Pionniers (francophone school), 3550 Wellington Street, Port Coquitlam. Classes continue on Tuesdays through June 15, 2010. In addition, we host a "Welcome to Choir" start up camp on Saturday, September 12, 2009, from 10-2 at Ecole des Pionniers. Plan to attend the AGM and info meeting at noon, and stay to hear a quick performance featuring your singer at 1:30!
