Novisingers
Novisingers is an entrance level for girls and boys aged six and up. It includes the basics of vocal production and musicianship presented in an age-appropriate manner. The singers are introduced to music and movement in a nurturing and joyful atmosphere.
Singers advance to the next level (Girlchoir) at their own speed, but some sight-singing skills are necessary before moving on to the Girlchoir level. The program is based on a two-year music pedagogical curriculum. This is the youngest level to perform at our two annual Academy concerts and at other community events.
First session Tuesday, September 8th, 2009 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at Ecole des Pionniers (francophone school), 3550 Wellington Street, Port Coquitlam. Classes continue on Tuesdays through June 15, 2010. In addition, we host a "Welcome to Choir" start up camp on Saturday, September 12, 2009, from 10-2 at Ecole des Pionniers. Plan to attend the AGM and info meeting at noon, and stay to hear a quick performance featuring your singer at 1:30!
