Sources
Children are naturally musical—in fact, the first instrument they learn to use is their own voice!
In Sources, children aged four and five learn the “fun-damentals” of music, including rhythm, melody, and expressive techniques, using actions, voice, simple instruments, nursery rhymes, folk songs, and creative games. The focus is on building musical and social skills through song play in a context of friendship and fun. The goals are to instill love for music and desire to gain skill in producing musical sounds, while training the musical brain and ear for future musical learnings.
Weekly classes are 50 minutes in duration held on Tuesdays beginning September 7, 2010. Classes are restricted to twelve children per class working with a music specialist teacher and teaching assistant. New children are accepted on-going as space is available. Sessions are held 4:15 PM and 5:15 PM - September through to June 2010, at Ecole des Pionniers (francophone school), 3550 Wellington Street, Port Coquitlam.
Our Sources instructors specialize in teaching music to little people. Angie Lundin, Jodi Proznick and teaching assistants Celina Fader, Dominique Deschenes and Katie Ceaser make up the Sources Team, sharing their passion for music in a nurturing, joyous learning environment.
