Youth Choir
Celebrate the spirit of youth through music and performance! The youth choir provides advanced music and performance education for changed-voice singers ages 14 and up (SATB).
This ensemble performs often within the community and, as this new ensemble develops, will tour from time to time. The teaching of music literacy, vocal technique, staging and development of leadership skills are the focus of the performance ensemble. Youth Singers are required to participate in their school choir programs when and where possible.
2007/08 REHEARSALS
- Regular weekly rehearsals begin Thursday, September 6th, 2007 at Evergreen Cultural Centre (rehearsal room) 1205 Pinetree Way (at Guildford Way), Coquitlam.
- A special choral weekend retreat is arranged at the beginning of September each year. There is an extra cost to this weekend choral retreat.
- Singers are asked to commit to the September – June Youth Choir schedule in advance with arrangements considered with other educational and work commitments taken into consideration – in advance.
- Alumni of CSMA Youth Choir programs have gone on to sing in some of Vancouver’s finest choral ensembles. This auditioned youth choir level offers exceptional choral training and performance opportunities and requires a high level of commitment to regular weekly rehearsals.
