China Tour 2008 - Itinerary
Day 1/Mar14 Vancouver - Beijing
The mysterious dragon beckons as you board Air Canada direct flight AC29, departs at 1235 to Beijing. Relax and enjoy the in-flight service. Move your watch a day ahead as you cross the international dateline.
Day 2/Mar15 Beijing
Welcome to Beijing - the Capital of China and home to many wonders. Arrive at about 1505 Saturday. You will be met by your friendly National and local guides and transferred to the 4-star Grand View Garden Hotel. Dinner and orientation at the hotel. (D)
Day 3/Mar16 Beijing
After breakfast, take a full-day excursion to the mighty Great Wall of China and explore the Ming Tombs, the resting place for the 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty. In late afternoon you will transfer to visit the Silk Market where you can shop at bargain prices for approx 2 hours. Enjoy a delicious Peking Duck Dinner in the evening. (B/L/D)
Day 4/Mar17 Beijing
Today you will visit the beautiful Summer Palace, the City Zoo and say hello to the lovely Pandas. Choir performance in a Music School in the late afternoon. [BEIJING WENHUI MIDDLE SCHOOL] Coach back to your hotel after dinner. (B/L/D)
Day 5/Mar18 Beijing - Tanggu
Visit the Temple of Heaven in the morning. Also visit the Forbidden City which houses numerous priceless treasures. Two dozens emperors lived here from the 15th to the early 20th century. The Tanggu local Government Representative will pick you up from your hotel in the late afternoon and transfer to Tanggu by coach. Tanggu host will greet choir at Shengli Hotel (B/L)
Day 6/Mar19 Tanggu
Tanggu District top officials meet the choir after breakfast. Visit Tanggu museum and then off to visit outer beach plaza and Jiefang Road new business street. Following lunch the choir will visit TEDA a new development area of Tianjin. Evening: choir performance at Tanggu Theatre followed by welcome banquet. (B/L/D)
Day 7/Mar20 Tanggu - Tianjin – Xian
The Tanggu local Government Representative will transfer you to the Tianjin airport to board Swedjet Airlines flight VD8310 at 11:20 flight to Xian (approx. 2 hrs). On arrival you will meet and visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Tonight enjoy the Dumpling Dinner & Tang Dynasty show. Stay at 4 star Tangcheng Hotel. (B/box lunch/D)
Day 8/Mar21 Xian
Today you will visit one of the major archaeological discoveries of the 20th century- the Tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang guarded by the famous Terracotta Warriors. Marvel at the statues of 8,000 life-size warriors and horses in battle formation guarding the emperor and his precious treasures. In the afternoon, visit the Grand Mosque to see the local life there. Day 9/Mar22 Xian - Shanghai
After breakfast you will visit to the Bell Tower and Ancient City Wall where you can rent a bike to ride on the wall at your own cost. After dinner, you will transfer to train station to board your overnight journey to Shanghai on K588/9 at 17:38. (4soft sleepers berth to one private compartment). Day 10/Mar23 Shanghai
Breakfast on train arrive in Shanghai at 13:32. Transfer to 4-Star Shanghai Hotel to freshen up. Choir performance in a Music School in the afternoon. [SHANGHAI CHANGNING DISTRICT CHILDREN PALACE] Visit the Children Palace to see enthusiastic children sing and dance. Enjoy an exciting Acrobatic Show in the evening. (B/L/D)
Day 11/Mar24 Shanghai - Suzhou
Take an early morning coach ride to Suzhou, known as Venice of the East. Enjoy a leisurely cruise along the Grand Canal and visit the exquisite Master of Nets Garden and a Silk Embroidery Institute if time allows. In the late afternoon, Choir performance in a Music School [SUZHOU NANHUAN MIDDLE SCHOOL] A farewell dinner tonight for a wonderful memories and experience of China. Stay overnight at 4 star Bamboo Grove Hotel in Suzhou. (B/L/D)
Day 12/Mar25 Suzhou - Shanghai - Vancouver
This morning travel back by coach to Shanghai where you will visit the Shanghai Museum, home to more than 400 pieces of exquisite bronze art. Enjoy a Mongolian Style BBQ lunch. Bid farewell to China as will be transferred to the airport to board Air Canada on AC38 transpacific flight at 1805. Arrive Vancouver at 1350 on the same day. (B/L)
